According to the notification issued under sub-section 2 of section 13 of Punjab Right to Service Act, 2011, Agrawal would have to resign or seek retirement from the IAS on the date on which he assumes office as chief commissioner of PRTSC.
Agrawal would hold the office for a term of five years from the date on which he assumes office or until he attains the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier. He will not be entitled for reappointment.
