Joshi also sought time from Sharma for a meeting to apprise him of the gloomy industrial scenario in Punjab for want of financial assistance from the union government and its (Centre's) apathy towards the state's long-pending demands.

Joshi reiterated that the union government's tax concessions to neighbouring states had led to an unwarranted flight of the industry from Punjab.
