Subsequently, Kalsi has been charged with one count of aggravated assault for incurring life-threatening injuries to his wife. The woman is currently fighting for her life and is on life support, the authorities said. Police received a call on Sunday that a woman was in distress at a house in South Surrey. When they arrived at the scene, they found the woman with life-threatening injuries.

The victim was transported to hospital by a British Columbia air ambulance. Kalsi will appear before a Surrey court on Wednesday. Canada’s integrated homicide investigation team (IHIT) has taken over the investigation.
