Rajkumar Balmiki joins INLD

Former Congress leader Rajkumar Balmiki, who had shifted to the Bharatiya Janata Party after losing the recent Lok Sabha election from Ambala, joined the Indian National Lok Dal on Monday.

Balmiki, who was chief parliamentary secretary and finished second in the Lok Sabha election, was welcomed in the INLD by party leader Abhay Chautala. Besides Balmiki, all the Republican Party of India candidates, led by party's state unit president Rajkumar Gaur, announced to withdraw their names and support the INLD.

Suresh Sharma, former chairman of the Haryana Warehousing Corporation and nephew of state's first chief minister Bhagwat Dayal Sharma, also joined the INLD.
