Two persons were found dead in separate incidents in Chandigarh on Sunday. A 30-year-old man was found dead in the servant room of a house in Sector 15.
SHO of the Sector-11 police station inspector Gurmukh Singh said the deceased had been identified as Jagdish. He was found unconscious in his room by his employer Surjit Singh, who is a Punjab government employee.
The victim was taken to the Government Multi-Specialty Hospital in Sector 16, where he was declared brought dead.
The police found empty bottles of liquor from the room and the victim had vomited.
The police have collected the samples and sent to a laboratory. However, the police have ruled out any foul play in the incident. Inspector Gurmukh Singh said the victim might have died due to excessive drinking, but the exact cause of death could be ascertained only after a postmortem.
In another incident, a 45-year-old man was found dead in a public toilet in Sector 28. The deceased has been identified as Laxam. According to the police, Laxam was homeless and used to sleep in the toilet for the past many years. The body has been shifted to the mortuary of Government Multi-Specialty Hospital in Sector 16.
