St John’s remembers IMA cadet Amul Rawal
The 20-year-old died on Tuesday after falling into a gorge in Dehradun
The teachers of St John’s High School, Sector 26, remembered its alumni Cadet (GC) of Indian Military Academy (IMA) Amul Rawal, 20, as a martyr who died on Tuesday after falling into a gorge in Dehradun.

“Amul was a caring, compassionate, intelligent and gifted young man. He lived to serve his country. Joining the Indian Army was a dream come true for him and his family,” said Principal Kavita C Das.
Das said, “The loss of this boy is a loss to the nation and the school grieves for him as we have lost a precious son. May his soul find peace and may God comfort his family.”
Teacher Poonam Kapur said, “He was a focused, calm and dedicated student. His goal in life was to fulfil his father’s dream of serving the nation which he accomplished. He was also good in sportsperson and academics.”
Rawal’s father Jai Chand who works in the Haryana Raj Bhawan, Sector 6 said, “He was the only child from the entire village and the family to have entered this field.”
After passing from National Defence Academy (NDA), he had joined the Indian Millitary Academy (IMA), Dehradun in January 2019.
