Surjit,Ashu log wins in inter-school boxing

Surjit Singh of Government Senior Secondary School (GSSS), Dhanas, defeated Sanjay Singh of Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS), Sector 32, in the 54kg event of the boys’ under-19 age-group category in the UT inter-school boxing tournament at SD Public School-32 on Monday.

In the other bout of the same weight category, Ashu of hosts SD School-32 got the better of Vishal (GMSSS-33). In the 57kg event, Ramu (GMSSS-28) defeated Mandeep Singh (GMSSS-21), and Deepak (SD School-32) brought down Navjot (GMSS-35).

In the 64kg event, Hardik (SD School-32) defeated Varun Kumar (Guru Nanak Khalsa Senior Secondary School-30). In the 69kg event, Chander Parkash (GSSS-Manimajra) defeated Vikas (GMSSS-28), while Sohan (SD School-32) ousted Manjeet (GMSSS-37). In bouts of the 51kg event, Karambir (SD School-32) got the better of Vikas (GMSSS-28), and Rinku (GSSS-Raipur Khurd) beat Vishal (GMSSS-32).

In the 48kg category, Vipin (SD School-32) got the better of Sharandeep (GMSS-28), while Aman (GSSS-Raipur Khurd) ended the challenge of Jatinder (GMSSS-37). Also, Manish Kumar (GMSSS-19) beat Sahil Kumar (GMSSS-37D), and Saurav (Sharda Sarvhitkari School-40) defeated Amar Singh (GMSSS-35).
