Police on Saturday arrested three persons with 86g heroin in two separate incidents.

In one of the incidents, Sukhbir Singh, 26, who is a graduate and working as a clerk at Panjab University (PU) was arrested with 50g heroin. In the other incident, central investigations agency (CIA) branch nabbed a duo with 36g.

All three have been booked under sections 21/61/85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.Sukhbir is married and used to live at his own residence in Phase 8 with his mother and wife.

The police arrested him on a tip off stopped him on the Burail road while he was entering SAS Nagar in his I-20 car. On checking, the cops recovered 50g heroin from his car. SHO of Phase 8 police station Amarbir Singh, who was on the spot, said, "We have arrested him in possession of heroin but it is yet to be ascertained whether he used the same for own consumption or used to sell it. We have taken his remand and more will be revealed during the investigations".

Meanwhile, the duo Kulwant Singh alias ladoo, 32, and Gurmeet Singh alias Manpreet, 26, were arrested near Ryat Bhara College on the Kharar-Kurali road confirmed that they used to sell heroin to college students.

Kulwant is a resident of Kapurthala and Gurmeet is from Moga and both were 'business partners'.

Police said they revealed that their main clients were college students from SAS Nagar and periphery. They also catered college students in the entire state. An official from CIA said, "We shall be producing them in court on Sunday."
