Vidhan Sabha to hold agri workshop

The Punjab Vidhan Sabha will organise a three-day agricultural workshop here in association with the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA), UK, from October 29.

A Vidhan Sabha spokesman stated that deliberations would be held regarding the agricultural committees of all member branches.

The CPA is a group of 54 member countries, including India. All legislatures of countries form various branches of this group.

The spokesman said delegates from several countries, including India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Maldives, Malaysia and Zimbabwe, were participating in the workshop.

The Lok Sabha speaker will deliver the inaugural address in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha Hall on October 29. The chief ministers of Punjab and Haryana, speakers from other states and parliamentarians are likely to participate.

Experts in the field of agriculture, such as resource persons, professors and vice-chancellors of agricultural universities, have been invited for giving suggestions during the workshop.
