Save a few minor aberrations, the much-sought-after and expensive residential localities of Sectors 6-9 are largely clean. Paper plates, cups, thermocol and other waste have been dumped close to house 683 in Sector 7. Residents complain that the garbage has been lying there for a long time now.

Paper plates, cups, thermocol and other waste have been dumped close to house 683 in Sector 7. Residents complain that the garbage has been lying there for a long time now.
In Sector 6, there is a garbage pile at the edge of the Topiary Park, towards the residential area.
Apart from these blots, Sectors 6-9 are easy on the eyes with roads swept clean, and pruned greenery. The mechanism seems to be well-oiled here.
Councillor CB Goel, who represents Sectors 6-8, said, “It is the result of our consistent efforts. A team of sanitation workers has been formed to look after these sectors. There are only minor glitches which need to be removed.”
The councillor has even donated a pick-up van for garbage collection in Sector 7. “The municipal corporation’s (MC) vehicle did not come everyday. So, I decided to donate a van. It helps in cleaning the place daily,” said Goel.
Meanhwile, another problem facing the residents is at the garbage pick-up points where residual waste is left behind by MC workers while shifting it to the dumping ground in Sector 23.
Sector-9 councillor Bhawna Gupta said, “The sector has been divided into four blocks, and each block has a superviser. The MC van comes twice daily. I keep a tab on the area’s cleanliness.”
