UT Cyber Police have registered separate FIRs under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) following two online fraud cases where residents lost over 25 lakh. A retired army officer Lt Col Jagtar Singh Multani from Sector 33-A was cheated of 23.7 lakh. Lured by a YouTube ad promising 200 percent returns, he invested through “Qora Trade.” Fraudsters shared fake profit letters showing his wallet grew to 92 lakh, then demanded tax via a fake Cyprus Tax Department representative. An FIR has been registered.
