The accused, identified as Amit alias Mitta from Muhana in Sonipat and Aakash alias Gitti from Delhi, were produced before the court after they were brought from Delhi’s Tihar jail on production remand.

The CIA-2 branch of the police had sought remand for 10 days to recover weapons and arrest other accused.

Superintendent of Police Jashandeep Singh Randhawa said that four shooters killed Mohit Rana and Vishal, alias Bhola on Jagadhri Road and all of them were involved in similar murder cases in Rohtak in early January and in Delhi in February, interchangeably.

“The special branch of the Delhi Police has recovered a couple of weapons from them. The CIA team aims to recover and verify more weapons used in the crime from Ferozpur, Kanpur and other locations,” he said.

During the remand, the police are also expected to arrest other accused involved in the shooting or providing arms and ammunition to them.

The CIA also told the court that gangster Shamsher alias Monu Rana, during his interrogation, told them that he hatched the conspiracy to kill Mohit Rana with the help of fellow members Pankaj alias Pakku, Kala Rana and Gitti, to take revenge due to an old enmity.

The car used in the crime, EcoSport SUV was found unattended at Pipli Bus Stand on NH-44 days after the murder, and was used with the original number in another murder case in Rohtak.
