3 held with illicit liquor in different parts of Chandigarh
Police arrested three men with illicit liquor from different parts of the Chandigarh; 42 boxes of whisky and 19 bottles of English wine were recovered from them
Police arrested three men with illicit liquor from different parts of the city on Monday. Officials said Manoj, 28, of Sector 21, Panchkula, and Parveen, 21, hailing from Kaithal, were caught with 42 boxes of whisky near Bapu Dham Colony Light Point. Raj Kumar, 36, of Sector 56 was also found carrying 19 bottles of English wine near a tubewell in Sector 56. Manoj and Praveen were booked under the Excise Act at Sector 26 and Raj Kumar at Sector 39 police station. They were later released on bail.

Panjab University (PU) have decided to extend the last date for depositing the second installment fee of the ongoing courses of the students under all teaching departments of the university campus up to December 31, 2022.
A blood donation camp was organized by University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS) in association with Rotaract Club of Silvercity Midtown; Shree Shiv Kanwar Mahasang Charitable Trust, Panchkula and Mahamai Mansa Devi Charitable Bhandara Committee on the occasion of 61st National Pharmacy Week Celebrations. The Centre of Management and Humanities of Punjab Engineering College (PEC) conducted an informative expert lecture on “Effective Stress Coping Mechanism” on Tuesday. The lecture was organised for B. Tech and M. Tech students with the purpose to enlighten the students about how to reduce stress and engage in good mental health habits.
The state-level Kala Utsav 2022-2023 was inaugurated in Chandigarh on Tuesday by State project director cum director school education, Harsuhinder Pal Singh Brar. It would be held till November 26 at Chitkara International School Sector 25, in which govt. aided/private schools will be participating. State Level Kala Utsav is an initiative to promote arts in education by nurturing and showcasing the artistic talents of school children at the secondary stage.
UT Police’s equestrian team wins 9 medals
UT Police’s equestrian team participated in the 41st All India Police games held at BSF, Tanekpur, from November 14 to 26 and won nine medals. One gold medal was won by lady constable Monika. She is the first female participant from Chandigarh Police in the equestrian competition and has won one gold medal along with the one bronze till now in this mega event.
22-yr-old man held with illegal weapon
Police on Tuesday arrested a 22-year-old man with a .315 bore country made pistol from his possession from Amb Colony, Phase 11, Mohali. The accused, identified as Parmod, a native of UP, runs a tea stall here.
U-19 meet: Tamil Nadu beat Chandigarh by nine wickets
Tamil Nadu beat Chandigarh by nine wickets to register their first win in the U-19 Cooch Behar Cricket Tournament. Tamil Nadu needed 141 runs to win on the last day of the match being played at Sector 16 Cricket Stadium on Tuesday and they achieved the target at a loss of one wicket. Earlier, UT boys were reduced to 290, without adding any runs to their overnight score.
