Air quality of nine Haryana cities slip to ‘poor’ category
The Haryana Space Applications Centre (HARSAC) has detected 29 fresh cases of stubble burning in the state on Sunday, taking the total count to 743 during this paddy harvesting season against the 1,110 reported last year from September 15 to October 2
: Air quality in Haryana deteriorated further on Monday, as the Air Quality Index (AQI) of nine cities in the state slipped to ‘poor’ category.
As per the Central Pollution Control Board’s (CPCB) air quality bulletin, the AQI of Bahadurgarh, Faridabad, Ballabgarh, Daruhera, Gurugram, Kaithal, Karnal, Kurukshetra and Manesar was recorded between 200 to 300.
The air quality of Faridabad has witnessed improvement as it returned to the ‘poor’ category from ‘very poor’. The air quality of Ambala, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Dharuhera, Gurugram, Hisar and Panchkula remained in the ‘moderate’ category on the second consecutive day.
The air quality of Narnaul, Palwal and Sirsa remained in the ‘satisfactory’ category.
According to the CPCB, AQI between 0 and 50 is considered as good, 51 and 100 as satisfactory, 101 and 200 as moderate, 201 and 300 as poor, 301 and 400 as very poor, and above 400 is severe.
