Ambala teenager gets 20-year RI for sodomising 11-year-old boy
The boy was sexually assaulted while he lived under the care of his maternal aunt after the death of his mother
A fast-track court in Ambala has awarded a 17-year-old boy rigorous imprisonment of 20 years for sodomising an 11-year-old boy in 2021.

The child was sexually assaulted while he lived under the care of his maternal aunt after the death of his mother.
Observing that the innocent boy was sexually abused and faced horrid incident at such an age, the children court of Aarti Singh held the accused guilty under Section 6 (aggravated penetrative sexual assault) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and Section 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The court sentenced the teenager to 20-year imprisonment for sexual assault and two years for intimidation with a fine of ₹5,000. Both sentences will run concurrently.
“In the present scenario, crime against children is on the rise and it is necessary to protect minor children from the detrimental effect of child sexual abuse,” the court observed.
The District Legal Services Authority was also asked to provide compensation of ₹2 lakh to the 11-year-old child.
The court also added that as the convict was less than 17 years old at the time of the crime, he will be sent to a place of safety in Karnal till he attains the age of 21 and will be transferred to a jail thereafter.
