Chandigarh Police recreate ‘crime scene’ at Haryana minister Sandeep Singh’s house
Lawyer of woman coach, who levelled sexual harassment charges against Sandeep Singh, says FIR includes non-bailable sections and “up to police to arrest minister without delay”
Chandigarh Police on Wednesday took the woman coach who lodged a sexual harassment complaint against Haryana sports minister Sandeep Singh to his official residence in the state capital to recreate the “crime scene”, her lawyer said.

The complainant’s lawyer, Deepanshu Bansal, told reporters outside Sandeep Singh’s residence in Sector 7, Chandigarh, that he has no information whether the minister was present at the house when she reached there.
Later, she left the place in a police vehicle.
Recorded statement before magistrate
“The police had requested that to recreate the crime scene, they wanted to take the survivor to Sandeep Singh’s residence,” Bansal said.
He said the Chandigarh Police team took the coach to the minister’s residence in connection with the investigation and for recreating the scene of the alleged crime.
Bansal said the complainant recorded her statement before a magistrate on Wednesday morning under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC). Earlier, she had recorded her statement before the police.
To a question, Bansal said the FIR registered by Chandigarh Police against Sandeep Singh includes non-bailable sections and it is “up to the police to arrest the minister without delay”.
Eight-hour questioning by police
On Tuesday, the woman coach had appeared before the Chandigarh Police’s special investigation team (SIT) for a marathon eight hours to record her statement.
The Chandigarh Police on Saturday registered an FIR against the 36-year-old BJP leader on charges of sexual harassment and wrongful confinement and set up an SIT to probe the case.
Sandeep Singh, a first-time MLA from Pehowa, has been booked under Sections 354 (assault or use of criminal force against a woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 354 A (sexual harassment), 354 B (compelling her to be naked), 342 (wrongful confinement) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
