CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu visits Balika Ashram, distributes sweets
The CM directed the officers to ensure proper maintenance of the ashram so that the girls do not face any inconvenience
Chief minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu today visited the Balika Ashram at Tutikandi in Shimla and distributed sweets to the girls.

While addressing the students, the CM said that the State Government would soon come out with a comprehensive plan to assist underprivileged students so that they could pursue the higher education of their choice without any hindrance. He advised the students to set a goal to work hard with a commitment to achieve the same. He said that it would be ensured that students residing in the ashram get proper facilities.
The CM directed the officers to ensure proper maintenance of the ashram so that the girls do not face any inconvenience. The CM announced ₹51,000 from his discretionary fund to the students who presented a colourful cultural programme on this occasion.
MLAs Rohit Thakur, Jagat Singh Negi, Rajesh Dharmani, Inder Dutt Lakhanpal, Sunder Singh Thakur, Kewal Singh Pathania, Sanjay Awasthi and Suresh Kumar, former MLA Sohan Lal, chief secretary RD Dhiman, principal secretary Subhaseesh Panda, deputy commissioner Shimla Aditya Negi, additional director Ekta Kapta and superintendent of police Dr Monika were also present on the occasion.
PM Modi congratulates Sukhu
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday congratulated Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu on taking oath as Himachal Pradesh chief minister and assured all possible cooperation from the Centre to further the development of the state.
“Congratulations to Shri Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu Ji on taking oath as Himachal Pradesh CM,” Modi said in a tweet.
“I assure all possible cooperation from the Centre to further the development of Himachal Pradesh,” he said.
