The farmers on Wednesday locked the main gate of the Rewari grain market after the government stopped mustard procurement. Seeing the protest, the Haryana state cooperative supply and marketing federation limited on Monday decided to start mustard procurement for two days on Thursday and Friday in six districts- Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Nuh, Rewari, Mahendergarh and Jhajjar.

The agitated farmers locked the main gate of the mandi in Rewari, which led to a scuffle with the police, who later convinced the farmers to open the gate. The farmer leaders alleged that they were forced to sell the crop in open mandi at ₹4,400 per quintal while the minimum support price in the government mandi was ₹5,450 per quintal.
