Fire engulfs two garment units in separate incidents in Ludhiana

Two garment manufacturing units were gutted in separate fires in the city on Tuesday, with no casualties reported.

The fires were reported from Rahon Road and Industrial Area C, where firefighting operations continued for several hours before the blazes were brought under control.
The first fire broke out at around 5.58 am at Gyan Hosiery in Ghosgarh on Rahon Road. Five fire tenders were deployed, and the blaze was brought under control after nearly three hours.
The second incident was reported at around 11.25 am at Gaytson International, a fabric and garments unit in Industrial Area C near Delhi Road. Another unit, Onkar International, operating from the same premises, was also affected. Seven fire tenders were pressed into service, and the fire was controlled by 3.10 pm.
Fire officials said no loss of life or injury was reported in either case. Preliminary investigation points to a possible short circuit as the cause, and a detailed inquiry is underway.
