Firing at Sector-33 house: HC grants bail to two accused

As many as 17 shots were allegedly fired in the incident while the five shooters were looking for Arvind Singla, a liquor contractor and Rakesh’s brother

Two accused in firing at hotelier Rakesh Singla’s house in Sector 33 on May 31, 2020, have been granted bail by the Punjab and Haryana high court.

As many as 17 shots were allegedly fired in the incident while the five shooters were looking for Arvind Singla, a liquor contractor and Rakesh’s brother. Nobody was injured in the firing. Police investigations had pointed at involvement of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang in the crime.

The duo who got bail are Kulwinder Singh, alias Kala, and Siva, alias Shiva Veeran. They were arrested in June 2020 and had applied for bail in May 2021.

The bail was granted by the high court bench of justice Avneesh Jhingan, taking into account the custody period of over two years and no criminal past of the accused.
