Haryana: 461 FIRs registered, 1,048 accused arrested in state-wide exercise

Haryana Police on Tuesday said that in a state-wide crackdown on March 2, as many as 461 cases were registered under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, NDPS Act, Excise Act and Arms Act, and 1,048 accused were arrested by 1,460 teams comprising 7,471 police personnel across Haryana.

Police spokesperson said that ahead of the “holi” festival elaborate security arrangements have been put in place to ensure that citizens celebrate the festival in a safe and fear-free environment.
The spokesperson said that under the Arms Act, 19 FIRs were registered and 16 accused were arrested and recovered 20 country-made pistols and 11 cartridges. Police also arrested 67 criminals, including 61 proclaimed offenders (POs), 101 bail jumpers, five most wanted criminals, one reward-carrying criminal.
