Congress legislators accused the government of a reduction in the allocation of funds, rising inflation and increasing unemployment, while BJP leaders endorsed the policies of the Jai Ram Thakur government.
Agnihotri said that the state’s debt will go upto ₹70,000 crore by the end of March, alleging that the government has only paid heed to two assembly segments- Seraj represented by the CM and Dharampur represented by jal shakti minister Mahender Singh Thakur.
He said that last year, the government allocated ₹121 crore for the water supply scheme in CM’s constituency, while ₹147 crore was allocated to the Dharampur water scheme, while other assembly segments were ignored
Agnihotri termed the budget as an “election budget”, while adding that Jai Ram Thakur was making every bid to retain power and accused the government for pushing the state into debt trap and further held him responsible for the poor fiscal health of the state.
He further alleged that the CM was hiding facts on the loans availed by his government.
Agnihotri termed the jal shakti department as the “biggest scam”, as only eight contractors have been awarded tenders worth ₹2,800 crore.
Very disappointed with oppn: Jai Ram Thakur
Jai Ram said that he was very disappointed with Agnihotri for not speaking on the basis of facts. He blamed the previous Congress governments for the debt burden on the state and said that during their time, loans worth ₹28,000 crore were taken.
