Ludhiana: Gunshots fired at medicine trader’s house

The family came to know about the firing on Monday morning after noticing damaged walls and pieces of plaster lying in the veranda and informed the PAU police, who reached the spot and began an investigation

Two unidentified bike-borne assailants allegedly opened fire at the house of a wholesale medicine trader in Kitchlu Nagar late on Sunday. No one was injured in the incident, police said.

A member of the family said they had no rivalry with anyone and had not received any threat or extortion calls. (HT File)

The family came to know about the firing on Monday morning after noticing damaged walls and pieces of plaster lying in the veranda and informed the PAU police, who reached the spot and began an investigation. Rishu Kalra, a member of the family, said they noticed signs of firing inside the house premises in the morning. “When I came out of my room, I saw plaster from the wall scattered in the veranda. On checking closely, we found bullet marks on the walls,” he said.

According to the family, CCTV footage showed two men arriving outside the house on a motorcycle around 12.45 am. One of them remained seated on the bike while the other walked towards the house and allegedly fired four shots before both fled.

Kalra said the family had no rivalry with anyone and had not received any threat or extortion calls. Inspector Rajinderpal Singh, SHO of PAU police station, said an FIR has been registered against unidentified persons and efforts on to identify the accused.
