Ludhiana police bust three gangs of miscreants, 8 arrested
Two miscreants were arrested near Tikona Park on the Shingar Cinema road in Ludhiana and a sharp-edged weapon, 11 mobile phones and a motorcycle was recovered from their possession
The Ludhiana police busted three gangs of miscreants with the arrest of eight accused.
The Division number 3 police arrested two snatchers near Tikona Park on the Shingar Cinema road and recovered a sharp-edged weapon, 11 mobile phones and a motorcycle from their possession.
The arrested accused have been identified as Yuvraj Sahota, alias Laddo of Valmiki Mohalla of Daresi, and Sonu of Bhukhri Kalan village at Tajpur road.
According to the police, the accused targeted migrant labourers after they travelled back home from work.
Besides, the Division number 1 police booked three persons identified as Sinkander, Boby and Keera under charges of snatching after they targeted a Mansura-based resident, Prakash Kumar near the railway station.
According to the complainant, he had come to the city to purchase clothes and when he went to attend the nature’s call near the railway station, the three accused turned up there and brandished a sharp-edged weapon. The accused snatched away ₹15,000 cash and a gold locket from him.
The Division number 6 police booked three persons, identified as Gugli, Anmol and Arsh, for snatching ₹20,000 and an iPhone from Haibowal resident Anupam Gupta who was heading home from his office in Transport Nagar. When Anupam reached near the Dholewal bridge, three accused turned up on a motorcycle, intercepted him and attacked him with a sharp-edged weapon. The accused fled after snatching money and a mobile phone.
