Ludhiana | Web channel director booked for defamation

The complainant Yogesh Bakhshi of New Chandar Nagar, Ludhiana, said he is president of Shiv Sena Bharatvashi. He added that someone had misused his pictures in a video telecasted by the web channel and with some comments. The accused has been identified as director of Akal Sahai Channel

The director of Akal Sahai TV, a web channel, was booked for misusing the pictures of a Shiv Sena leader in a video. According to the Shiv Sena leader, people had started threatening him and using abusive language against him after the videos went viral.

He added that someone had misused his pictures in a video telecasted by the web channel and with some comments. After the video went viral, he received threats from various groups and people started posting derogatory comments against him on various social networking sites.

Sub-inspector Bhajan Singh, the investigating officer, said a case under Sections 295A (outraging the religious feelings), 298 (deliberate intention of wounding the religious feelings) and 500 ( defamation) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused.
