Mercury crosses 30°C in Chandigarh for the first time this year

Summer has arrived in Chandigarh in full gear, with the maximum temperature crossing 30°C for the first time this year on Sunday.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the day temperature went up from 29.5°C on Saturday to 30.6°C on Sunday, 3.1 degrees above normal.

The minimum temperature also rose from 15.9°C to 16.6°C, 4.2 notches above normal.

As per IMD, amid the ongoing dry spell, the day temperature is likely to rise up to 32°C within the next couple of days and can even shoot up to 34°C by the next weekend. Similarly, the night temperature may go up to 19°C over the next few days.
