Police have booked a scribe and his female aide for molesting his former colleague during a drinking session at Sohana.The complainant, who is a broadcast journalist, said she and the accused used to work for the same media company in 2020.

On January 15, she met him and his female friend in Sector 43, Chandigarh. They bought four beer bottles, along with chicken, from Sector 43 and went to his female friend’s house in Sohana.
The complainant alleged that there, her former colleague forcibly made her drink beyond her capacity and touched her inappropriately. Even his female friend didn’t stop him and rather encouraged him to “get done quickly”.
On her complaint, police have registered a case under Sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at the Sohana police station, and initiated investigation to nab the accused.

The accused lives in Sector 40. A Class-10 passout, he is married and works as an online marketing executive, said police.
In her complaint, the teacher had said she was taking a walk in a park near her house around 11 am on January 9. There, suddenly a youth intercepted her and flashed her.
Before the accused fled, the complainant had managed to click his picture and submitted it with the police. Subsequently, police launched a probe, and arrested the accused with the help of technical surveillance and human intelligence.
The accused is facing a case of molestation and sexual harassment, registered at the Sector-39 police station.
