He will be replacing Sanjay Baniwal, a 1989-batch officer, who had joined Chandigarh Police on June 28, 2018, on a deputation of two years. In September last year, he was promoted to DGP grade (level 16 in the pay matrix). Baniwal’s order of posting is yet to be issued.
