Punjab, Haryana CMs pay tribute to CRPF martyrs on Pulwama anniversary

Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann and Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday paid homage to the CRPF personnel killed in the 2019 Pulwama terror attack, asserting that the country would never forget their supreme sacrifice.

Marking the sixth anniversary of the strike, Mann posted on X: “We pay heartfelt tribute to the martyrs of the Pulwama terror attack. Our nation will forever remember the sacrifice of these brave soldiers.”

Haryana CM Saini echoed the sentiment, describing the sacrifice as an “indelible symbol” of India’s resolve. “The indomitable courage of Mother India’s valiant sons inspires us to stand united and firm against terrorism,” Saini said.

On February 14, 2019, 40 CRPF personnel were killed when a suicide bomber rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into a security convoy in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district. The attack—one of the deadliest in the region—was followed by India’s retaliatory Balakot airstrikes against terror camps in Pakistan.
