A 34-year-old man died in a mishap after his neck got trapped in a goods lift at a sweet shop in Haryana’s Hisar on Sunday.

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Jasbir Singh of Kumbha Khera village in Hisar district. The incident occurred at a sweet shop in Rajguru Market of Hisar. According to the shop owner Anil Goyal, Jasbir had come to the shop on Saturday night along with his cousin Vijay, a worker at the shop.
The incident took place on Sunday around 6 am when his neck got trapped between the lift doors, and a sudden jerk severed it.
The deceased’s father, Rambir has alleged foul play and demanded a high-level probe into his son’s death.
Hisar City police station incharge Amit Kundu said the preliminary investigation and CCTV footage suggest the incident appears to be accidental. He said the body has been sent for a post-mortem examination and the exact cause and circumstances of the death will be ascertained once the report is received.
