State Investigating Agency (SIA) has produced supplementary charge sheet against People’s Democratic Party (PDP) youth president Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra in the Designated court Srinagar. Parra after spending 17 months in jail was released in May after High Court granted him bail.

“SIA Srinagar produced a supplementary charge sheet against accused Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra in the Designated court Srinagar in FIR NO:31/2020 PS CIK. The supplementary charge sheet also consists Abate challan against the OGW and terrorists involved in different terrorist acts (now killed) with whom accused Waheed-ur-Rehman had developed links and hatched criminal conspiracy for his political gains,” Police spokesman said in a statement.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) had arrested the PDP youth leader for his alleged links with militants in January 2021. The PDP had termed all charges against him baseless. Though he was granted bail by the NIA court in 2020, he was again arrested by the CID wing of the Jammu and Kashmir Police. Parra was first arrested under the provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act in November 2020, three days after he filed his nomination for the District Development Council elections in J&K. He won the DDC polls from Pulwama but wasn’t allowed to take oath.
Parra is one of the most prominent leaders of the PDP in south Kashmir, who holds sway on grassroot workers especially youth. He had played pivotal role in organising big rallies in Srinagar which were attended by central ministers when PDP and the BJP were running a coalition government in J&K.
