Deputy commissioner Amit Talwar also called a meeting to take stock of the preparations being made in this regard. “Traffic on the roads is increasing each day and the number of accidents is also on the rise. The step is part of the Punjab government’s multifaceted plan to solve the traffic issues of the city,” he said, adding that these roundabouts will be constructed by March-end.

A survey will be carried out to reduce congestion on Airport Road (PR 7). Talwar also directed municipal corporation officials to synchronise lights at the airport so that people do not have to wait in traffic for long.
