DCP Jaskiranjit Singh Teja on Monday stated that on September 6, two accused, Lovejeet Singh and Vishwas Kumar, were held with 700 grams of heroin in Jalandhar. “During the investigation, they revealed that they were supposed to get heroin supply from accused Sher Singh and Ajay Singh. A case under sections 21, 61, and 85 of the NDPS act was registered against them at police station division number 8. On December 9, the police received a tip-off that these two accused are coming to Jalandhar to supply heroin. Acting on this, teams of CIA staff nabbed the accused at a checkpoint near a focal point area in Jalandhar and recovered 510 grams of heroin from their possession”, he said.
DCP Teja also said that the accused, Ajay Singh and Sher Singh, were working at a cement shop in Tarn Taran.
“We are probing more into the matter to analyse their links, he said.
