The website which is expected to be launched early in July will be accessible to all at www.schooleducation.chd.gov.in. Data related to all schools, teachers and students will be uploaded here. Each school will be provided a username and password to upload data here and to generate reports through this software. The department will also hold a demo to show how the software is to be used to all stakeholders soon.

UT director, school education, Harsuhinder Pal Singh Brar said, “We had received feedback from teachers who had said that they were spending much time and effort collecting this data daily. We want that teachers should stick to teaching and we will try to remove other administrative work that they have to do.”

He added that time-consuming daily activities like marking attendance will become streamlined and rather than preparing the whole data again, the schools will only have to upload it once and can later update it through the app.

Teachers have been asked to upload data in excel sheet format with 32 columns for all students. Earlier, a deadline of June 27 was given for this. Some teachers, however, had requested the director, school education, to grant more time as some teachers were on leave due to the summer vacations and it would take time to get details like blood groups of all students. The last date for this has been extended to July 7 as confirmed by Brar.

After initially launching the app, Brar also envisions combining it with the already existing online services like Project Phoenix. “I have been monitoring the functioning of Project Phoenix which has been impressive. We plan to integrate it so that all services of the UT education department are available under this one app. This will be done later as currently, we are in the process of feeding data into the app,” Brar added.
