Woman killed, husband injured in Sangrur mishap

The couple was travelling from Dirba to Sangrur, when a tractor trolley hit their scooter; the woman died on the spot

A 42-year-old woman was killed and her husband severely injured when their scooter was allegedly hit by a tractor-trolley near Mehlan road in Sangrur on Wednesday, police said.

The couple was travelling from Dirba to Sangrur. Mamta Rani died on the spot. Her husband sustained severe injuries and is under treatment at Umeed Hospital, Sangrur.

An FIR under relevant sections of the BNS has been registered against the driver who managed to escape from the spot. The tractor-trolley has been seized, police said.
