New Delhi: Emails linked to bomb threats targeting institutions in the capital between August 2025 and March 15 this year have been traced to the 47-year-old man from Karnataka’s Mysuru, Delhi Police said on Monday.
Police identified the accused as Srinivas Louis, originally from Bengaluru, who allegedly sent over 1,100 hoax threat messages to schools, high courts and government offices across the country. He was apprehended on Thursday and brought to Delhi on Monday morning.
Investigators said the motive, so far, points to personal frustration, as Louis was pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Law from a Bengaluru college but could not complete the course. “He was upset over not being able to finish his studies, which appears to have triggered his actions,” an officer said. Police have also seized two mobile phones from his possession, which have been sent for further forensic examination.
The arrest follows a series of threat emails received by the Delhi High Court, Delhi Assembly and several educational institutions in recent weeks leading to evacuations and heightened security.
Louis was currently unemployed and living with his mother, a retired government employee, police said.
