Delhi BJP lights lamps to mark Vajpayee’s birth 101st birth anniversary

Delhi BJP organised a Deepotsav on Wednesday celebrating the 101st birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at its new headquarter on Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Marg by lighting 101 lamps.

Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva said the former PM’s popularity surpassed all political and ideological divides.

“He was popular not only among Jana Sangh or BJP workers but among workers of every political party. Members of other parties and ideologies would also come to listen to his speech,” added Sachdeva. “He contested elections from different regions. By winning elections from the Muslim-majority Lucknow constituency from 1991 to 2004, he established how widely acceptable and universally respected a leader he was,” Sachdeva added.
