Delhi: Man kills wife in Karawal Nagar, dies by suicide
According to police, the couple had been married for nine years and had two children — a seven-year-old girl and a five-year-old boy.
A 32-year-old man killed his 26-year-old wife over her relationship with another woman at their house in east Delhi’s Karawal Nagar, police officers aware of the matter said on Thursday, adding that the man died by suicide a week later in his village in Uttar Pradesh’s Kasganj.

According to police, the couple had been married for nine years and had two children — a seven-year-old girl and a five-year-old boy. After the murder on March 15, the man absconded with the children for a week before dropping them off at his parents’ house in Kasganj on Tuesday, said Joy Tirkey, deputy commissioner of police (north-east). The next day, he said, the man died by suicide.
According to the DCP, the 26-year-old was jailed in Visakhapatnam in 2021 for peddling marijuana. “There, she befriended a 25-year-old woman with whom she entered into a romantic relationship,” the officer said.
Her husband bailed her out last year, but the other woman followed them to Delhi. “When the couple would quarrel, the woman would go and live with her friend,” the officer said.
On March 15, the couple had a fight about her relationship, following which the man slit his wife’s throat and fled with their children.
“We chased him through Gujarat, but he kept escaping with his children,” the DCP said.
On Tuesday evening, the man finally landed in Kasganj, left his children in his parents’ custody, and on Wednesday he died by suicide, the DCP said.
