Police have apprehended a minor boy for allegedly killing his 22-year-old neighbour in west Delhi’s Raghubir Nagar, after he was being slapped by the man during an altercation early Monday, police said.

Deputy commissioner of police (west) Ghanshyam Bansal said the victim was in an inebriated state when the argument broke out between him and the 17-year-old accused. He allegedly slapped the boy, following which the accused went inside his residence, came back with a vegetable knife a few minutes later, and stabbed the 22-year-old man.
“An investigation is underway to ascertain the exact reason behind the altercation,” said Bansal.
The 22-year-old injured man was taken to a hospital in west Delhi immediately after the incident took place, but the doctors declared him dead on arrival.
A case of murder was registered against the accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal code (IPC) at the Khyala police station, and the 17-year-old boy was apprehended within hours, said police, adding that the knife used in the crime was also recovered from his possession.
