'Missing Sisodia': Budget focuses on 'beautiful Delhi' amid Centre vs AAP

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said everybody today is missing Manish Sisodia but the former minister's work will not be stalled.

The theme of Delhi Budget 2023 is clean, beautiful and modern Delhi, minister Kailash Gahlot said as he presented the Budget after two days of standoff between the Centre versus AAP over the budget. Ahead of the Budget, chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said everyone in Delhi is missing former minister Manish Sisodia but his work will not be stalled. After Sisodia resigned following his arrest in the alleged liquor scam, Kailash took the reins of the finance ministry. Presenting Delhi Budget 2023, Gahlot said Sisodia is not like his elder brother, but is the elder brother.

Here is what Delhi gets in Budget 2023:

1. Upgradation and beautification of 1400 kms of the entire PWD road network

2. Construction of 26 new flyover/underpass/bridge projects in different parts of Delhi

3. Construction of 3 unique double-decker flyovers in collaboration with DMRC at Bhajanpura to Yamuna Vihar, Azadpur to Rani Jhansi intersections, and from Saket to Pul Prahladpur

4. Induction of 1600 new zero-emission electric buses, including 100 feeder buses

5. Electrification of 57 existing bus depots of Delhi

6. Construction of 3 world-class Inter-State Bus Terminals (ISBTs), 2 multi-level bus depots, 2 modern bus terminals, and 9 new bus depots in Delhi

7. Construction of 1400 new and modern bus queue shelters in Delhi

8. Six-point action plan for a Clean Yamuna

9. Clearing all three garbage mountains of Delhi.

Delhi's Education Budget 2023

In a budget of 78,800 crore for 2023-24, education gets 16,575 Core.

In 2023-24, the Govt. will again provide new tablets to all teachers, principals, vice- principals and DDE.

20 new computers will be provided in each of the 350 schools under the Delhi Government.

French, German, Japanese and Spanish will now be taught in Schools of Specialized Excellence of the Delhi Govt. schools

Schools and industry will collaborate together to develop professional skills for children in the schools which will be called Schools of Applied Learning.

Delhi Budget to fight pollution

A new anti-pollution war plan has been proposed in Delhi Budget 2023 in which areal-time pollution data lab will be set up in each district of Delhi. Road dust will be reduced and 52 lakh trees will be planted.
