Drunk Pune youth falls to death from 13th floor of a building

The incident was recorded as an accidental death. Police sub-inspector (PSI) TM Fadd of Aundh police chowky is investigating the case.

A 21-year-old student fell to his death from the 13th floor of a building in Balewadi late on Sunday. The incident happened after the deceased youth, Anupam Patil, under the influence of liquor, allegedly slipped from the balcony of his friend's house in ‘43 Privet Drive’ on Balewadi road, according to police.

"Patil fell and was immediately taken to Jupiter hospital in Baner. However, doctors declared him dead on arrival. When they learned what had happened, they called the police and file a medico-legal case (MLC)," the station house officer at Chaturshrungi police station said.

His body was sent to Aundh general hospital for post-mortem.

The incident was recorded as an accidental death. Police sub-inspector (PSI) TM Fadd of Aundh police chowky is investigating the case.

"I believe he is a student of Sinhgad college. After the accidental death report (ADR), all policemen have been out for Shivjayanti bandobast. We will speak to his family members and friends," said PSI Fadd.

Patil is believed to have climbed on a platform while he was in the balcony when he lost balance and fell, police said.
