A 25-year-old woman was allegedly molested inside a private company, of which she was an employee, at MG Road by the head of the human resources department of the organisation, the police said on Thursday.
The woman told the police that on August 22 she was called to a room on the third floor of the company’s office by the accused, who then forcefully held her hand, said Rajbala, station house officer (SHO), Sector 51 women police station.
An FIR has been registered under Section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code on Wednesday.
The SHO said the victim had reported this is not the first time she has been abused the head of the human resources department of the company. The accused had allegedly molested her in December 2017 as well.
After the August 22 incident, the woman complained to the company’s internal committee and later approached the police along with her husband.
“The victim stays at a rented accommodation in the city with her husband. The couple filed a complaint on August 23, after the woman told her husband about the incident,” the SHO said.
Rajbala said that there was no CCTV camera in the room in which the woman was allegedly molested. “We have recorded the woman’s statement before a magistrate under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC),” the SHO said.
No arrest has been made in the case yet.
