Maharashtra tourism and environment minister Aditya Thackeray will visit Ayodhya on June 15 to pay obeisance to Ram Lalla, said Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Monday.

“He will also attend Saryu arti in the evening,” Raut told media persons in Ayodhya. Raut, a Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha MP, along with other party leaders was on a daylong visit to the temple town. Aditya Thackeray is the son of Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray.
“Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the visit could not be scheduled in the past two years,” he added. Replying to a query on the Gyanvapi row in Varanasi, Raut said: “We will accept the court’s verdict.”
On the issue of targeted killings of Kashmiri Pandits in Kashmir, Raut said: “Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray has promised full support and proper care of Kashmiri Pandits if they are willing to settle in Maharashtra.”
Raut also reputed allegations that Shiv Sena had a tacit understanding with BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh due to which he was opposing Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray’s Ayodhya visit.
SIngh, the BJP MP from U.P.’s Kaiserganj Lok Sabha seat, was at the forefront of anti-Raj Thackeray campaign in Ayodhya and was opposing the MNS chief’s visit. Due to this, Raj Thackeray had to cancel his proposed visit to Ayodhya on June 5.
