Degree college manager, wife and son found dead
Police said investigations revealed the relationship between the couple Sandeep Porwal, 48, Meera Porwal, 44 and their elder son Shivam, 26, were strained for some time.
Kanpur: Manager of a degree college who was also a noted businessman, his wife and son were found dead in Auraiya on Thursday. All of them had bullet injuries on their body and a revolver was found near them, said the police.
Police said investigations revealed the relationship between the couple Sandeep Porwal, 48, Meera Porwal, 44 and their elder son Shivam, 26, were strained for some time.
ADG Kanpur zone Bhanu Bhaskar who reached Auraiya after the bodies were discovered, said forensic teams from Kanpur and Auraiya were examining the site. “Auraiya police have been asked to solve this case within 24 hours,” he said.
Porwal was manager of Prakash Chandra Degree College.
The relatives told the police the three lived on the third floor of the house. Sandeep and Meera’s bodies were in one room and that of Shivam in another room. Their youngest son Omji, a class 12 student, lives on the second floor.
Omji said nothing was unusual till mid night. His father spoke to many people over phone about college affairs and his business. Circle officer Surendranath Yadav said the incident took place apparently between 2 am and 3 am when the family members were asleep and did not even hear the sounds of gunshots.
Yadav said the police questioned Sandeep’s brothers Satish Porwal, Prakash and Pradeep who live with their families in the same house and in the adjacent one. The bodies were discovered around 10 am when Omji went up the third floor to see why his father and mother were sleeping till late.
