Uttar Pradesh recorded a slight fall in new daily Covid-19 cases as 450 more people tested positive on Monday, as against the 574 who had tested positive a day before. The test positivity rate in 24 hours in UP is 0.6%.
At present, the state has 3,767 active cases and a majority of them are in home isolation. The overall test positivity rate in Uttar Pradesh is 1.78%
“In the past 24 hours, 335 more patients recovered and the total number of Covid-19 patients recovered in the state reached 20,61,685 with a recovery rate of 98.69%,” said Dr Abhishek Shukla, secretary-general, Association of International Doctors.
Lucknow reported 138 new cases, Gautam Buddh Nagar 76, Ghaziabad 49, Gorakhpur 20, Lakhimpur-Khiri 37, the state health department data read. Lucknow was the only district to have reported new cases in three figures.
According to the health department data, Gautam Buddh Nagar has 696 active cases under treatment and Ghaziabad 407 cases. In Varanasi, there are 132 active cases, in Gorakhpur 115 and in Jhansi 106 cases. The state has reported a total 20,88,985 cases and 23,533 deaths since the pandemic began.
“The state tested 67,682 samples in the past 24 hours, and till now, 11,69,05,529 samples have been tested,” said Amit Mohan Prasad, additional chief secretary, medical and health in a press statement.
Over 1000 active cases in Lucknow
Active Covid-19 cases in Lucknow crossed the 1000-mark as 138 more people tested positive during the day and 64 patients recovered.
According to the health department data, Lucknow has 1,025 active cases and over a dozen are admitted to hospitals. This is after February 21 that active cases in Lucknow went above 1000. On February 21, there were 1,137 cases and on February 22 there were 959 active cases in Lucknow.
During the day Alambagh reported 32 new cases, Aliganj 18, Chinhat 17, Indira Nagar 14, Sarojininagar 14, NK Road 10 and Tudiyaganj 5.
