Two arrested in Lucknow for submitting fake BAMS marksheet

They were arrested when they went to the board’s office at Lalbagh for registration. Copsascertaining if the duo helped others submit fake documents

LUCKNOW Two persons were arrested for submitting fake Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) marksheet at the Ayurveda department’s office of registrar. The duo, Furqan Ali and Narendra Kumar, are residents of Rampur district, said a press statement from the Lucknow police.

Registration with the Board of Ayurvedic and Unani Tibbi Systems of Medicine, UP, is mandatory for doctors to practice in the state. An FIR was lodged against the duo at the Hazratganj police station in Lucknow by Dr AK Verma, registrar of the board.

“We verify all the marksheets submitted with us via online process. The documents produced by the duo were of an institute in Rishikesh (Uttarakhand). After the verification process, the degrees turned out to be fake,” said Verma,

The information was shared with the police. Furqan and Narendra were arrested when they went to the board’s office at Lalbagh for registration. The police were investigating if these two had helped others also in similar manner to submit fake documents, said officials.
