He was addressing a gathering at Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth before leading Tiranga Yatra from there to Dr Sampurnanand Sanskrit University.

Schoolchildren, youth and people from various walks of life took part in the yatra in large numbers carrying the National Tricolour. A PAC and police band led the ;procession even as participants moved forward while filling the air with patriotic slogans such as “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram.”

Singh said: “Today, the nation’s youth are resolving to align their hard work, dreams and careers with the task of nation-building. This is not merely a journey; it is a journey of self-respect, a journey of resolve and a journey towards building a developed India.”

Addressing the event, the minister said, “I wish to ask the youth here a question. If our soldiers can stand guard to the country at the borders, if our scientists can work day and night to take India to the Moon, and if our athletes can fly the Indian Tricolour high across the globe, can we not resolve to make India a developed, self-reliant, and a global leader?

On the occasion, he administered a pledge to the people to contribute fully towards building a developed, prosperous, and self-reliant India, placing the national interest above all else.
