“More than a record of dates, the calendar seeks to reinforce the role of women as decision-makers in gram panchayats, moving beyond symbolic representation,” panchayati raj minister Om Prakash Rajbhar said while launching the calendar here on Tuesday.
Titled around the message “Not behind the curtain, but in front as pradhan,” the initiative stresses that women elected as village heads must lead development works and participate meaningfully in policy decisions.
The calendar will be displayed in gram panchayats, panchayat buildings and departmental offices to promote a positive mindset towards women’s leadership at the grassroots.
The minister said empowered women in panchayats form the foundation of a strong democracy and inclusive rural development. Director panchayati raj Amit Kumar Singh described the calendar as a guiding and inspirational document to translate women-friendly thinking into practice.
