Welfare schemes targeted at ending inequality: Dy CM Maurya

He said this while speaking at a two-day seminar on “Early detection and intervention for rehabilitation of persons with disabilities’ which was jointly organised by Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, government of Uttar Pradesh and Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow.
Maurya who was present as the chief guest at the seminar organised at BBAU, recalled the contributions of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar in social development. He said the government, with its joint efforts, is developing various famous places related to the life of Tathagat Buddha under the Panchteerth scheme.
He said that development would happen only if both cities and villages become smart. He urged the teachers and students of the university to do research in rural development and related matters and help and guide the government through research.
The deputy CM appealed all the teachers and students to run a cleanliness campaign once a week on the university campus on the theme of ‘clean India and healthy India’.
During the seminar, transport minister Dayashankar Singh accepted the demands raised by vice chancellor Acharya Sanjay Singh and said that soon efforts would be made to arrange electric buses on the university campus. He also assured the university to start bus service to connect BBAU Amethi campus and Lucknow campus.
In his address, the vice-chancellor mentioned about schemes like Savitri Bai Phule Hostel and Yoga Wellness Centre started with the cooperation of the state government. Referring to the traffic problem being faced by the students, he urged the minister to suggest ways to solve it.
