Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday said Mahakumbh-2025 in Prayagraj must represent the ‘new Uttar Pradesh’ of ‘new India’, showcasing the administrative capacity, rich culture and tourism possibilities of the state.

This time, the management of the event should be such that it outperforms itself and meets the expectations of the country and the world, the chief minister said as he chalked out an outline for the Mahakumbh-2025 at a high-level meeting in Prayagraj.

It was an opportunity for all 24 crore citizens of U.P. to present the state’s potential before the world, he said.

At the first official meeting for the Mahakumbh-2025 chaired by him, he emphasised the quality and timeliness of the works in the tenders of Mahakumbh Mela.

Yogi Adityanath also warned of strict action against officials who show any laxity.

He directed that a committee should be formed under the chairmanship of the divisional commissioner and the projects should be monitored every week.

Yogi Adityanath said under the leadership and guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Prayagraj Kumbh-2019 was successfully organised by the state government and the standards of cleanliness, security and order were established.

The Mahakumbh 2025 should be presented as an excellent project showcasing the cultural heritage of the entire India and administrative capacity of the state.

If any problem arises at any level, solve it by holding a meeting, said Yogi.

Special attention should be paid to cleanliness and the number of toilets should be increased, he said.

Special arrangements should be made for the cleaning staff, including their stay, and their remuneration should be sent to their bank accounts, he said.

The number of ghats and their length should also be increased, he added.

In order to keep the Ganga’s flow uninterrupted and clean, an action plan should be made to complete the projects in time to maintain Nirmal Ganga in all the districts from Bijnor to Prayagraj, he added.
